Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Talk about pain. BMW sold 10 7-series in February compared to 1502 a year ago. Talk about hangovers in Bavaria. Here's the link .

POST 2 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Mind you, Porsche wasn't much better.

POST 3Original post

I think it's kind of funny how only Cayenne sales are down significantly, otherwise more Boxsters were sold, and about 8% less 911s were sold. Edit: Well I guess that only really applies to Feb. and not YTD comparisons.

POST 4Original post

True, the economy is very bad, but rememeber that BMW is introducing a new 7 Series this Spring, so you would expect sales to be down quite a bit on the older model.

POST 5Original post

Mini seems to be picking up. I predicted Mini was going to be a flop for BMW, oops.

POST 6Original post

That 7 Series drop off is more like falling off a cliff! It makes me think it's a typo almost. No GT3 sales so far this year for Porsche.

That is because there is not a 2009 GT3, and I doubt there are few, if any, new 2008 GT3's on the dealer lots.

POST 8Original post

I bought a tricycle for my 20 month old Yesterday at Wallmart....instead of Toys R Us and saved 3 bucks! Have spend almost 2K on repairs of P-car...the prediction that Autozone will do better in bad economy is probably right..... fix that old crappy 99 tip porsche instead of getting a new(er) one

I had a tricycle you could have had for next to nothing...say 20% of the original MSPR...... only needs a few repairs....

POST 11Original post

10 7-series? Was that the stat for one town in Bavaria maybe?

somewhere between these two ?

POST 16Original post

Yeah, I think the low sales are probably due to the new 7-Series coming out shortly. I noticed that Z4 sales also tanked as well. But again, there's a new model coming out. Very few people want to spend that much money and be stuck with "last year's look". This is why for a new body style year, they typically release it much earlier in the year. I'm reminded that even in this crappy economy SOME people still have money. My neighbor is currently fawning over his new LS600. Never really understood that car quite honestly...

POST 17 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I think 911s are holding up relatively well compared to last years numbers both because of the new DFI and PDK cars as well as the fact that they were already pummeled by about 40-50% year over year last Feb. As for the 7-series, yes, there's a new model coming out, but wow. 10 cars? That's for ALL of North America. Crazy.
