Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

12 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I brought my car in for a minor service and came across this 2001 RUF. Enjoy

POST 2Original post

I never knew they built a 996, this looks great and I’m curious to learn more.

POST 5Original post

The RUF has a Metzger engine, and a roll cage that is upholstered. Substance and not just style.

POST 7Original post

I love the rear deck lid. However, I find it ironic that there are few stories about RUF 996's or other specialty shops that have created supermodels. In contrast, given almost every few months, in either Panorama or other publications, another air-cooled manifestation is loaded with breathtaking analysis and a photo essay closer to a Playboy spread. Given the vast amount of new products and services directed to owners of 996s, it gives evidence that a growing segment or just a crazy bunch of zealots are enjoying and modifying the model, and it would seem that a vast audience has yet to be given the same daylight treatment as other models. How many other tuners have worked their magic, and where are those stories and pictures?

This one has a roll bar that can be seen through the back window and looks to be covered in leather. The Euro GT3 seats have grey Alcantara inserts.

I am pretty sure it does as the Porsche Dealer mentioned it was 1 of 17 RUF RGTs produced.

Looking at the windscreen you can see the roll cage extending around the A pillars and top of the wind screen.

You are correct and I modified my post. Really cool how integrated the roll cage is!
