Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

8 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

My battery died...so I noticed this on my 2001 C2...this tube seems to go off towards the drivers side of the car taped to some sort of cluster of wires. The end of the tube is just laying next to the battery not connected to anything.

POST 2Original post

I believe that is the vent tube for the battery.

POST 4Original post

+2 Connect it to the battery if the battery is the type that has a venting system, and if so do not remove it and make sure it is clear of any debris that could block it. If the battery is not the type with a venting system, then leave the tube there as you found it.

POST 5 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

None vent battery, thanks guys! I did not know there was such a thing.

POST 6Original post

Blow into it and it will tell you how much alcohol you have in your system.
