Today was the first nice day in a while and I was able to find a couple of hours late in the day to clear my head, so I decided to spend some time in the garage getting the cars ready for the Spring. I've had a Guardian sitting on my shelf for...a while. And, I figured there was no time like the present so I pulled the IMSG out of its box and thougth I'd give the install a shot. The good news is that the sump pan was very clean when I opened it up (although I can see why some people have said that getting the IMSG on with the scrape plate is a PITA). Anyway, I didn't find any metal or other fragments (large or small) hanging around anywhere. I also took a sample of the oil to send in to Blackstone so we'll see what they say about its condition. The bad news is that there's a crack in the baffles. And, of course, since I decided to start my project late in the afternoon there are no dealers open for me to source the replacement piece. Oh well. At least I can start working on all of the electrical stuff and worry about it next weekend...assuming the part is hanging around somewhere and doesn't need to be special ordered from Germany for some reason. I've found it "available" online from a few places and "special order" from others but I'm not sure if "available" just means that they can order it. Anyone have any experience ordering from Gaudin Porsche? -Eric
