The driver's side seatbelt on my newly aquired 2002 996 4S does not spool up as it should when removing - is there anything that can be done, bar taking it to the OPC for replacement??? Thanks, Gareth.

Coverage and how to read this overview
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

You can try cleaning them with soap and water. My gilfriends BMW was having issues with belt retraction and ultimately that was the problem. S.
oooooh. that's novel. will give a try this weekend :-)
My driver's side seatbealt takes up very slow too. When you say clean with soap and water do you mean the belt or the mechanism?
The belt itself. You canjust pull it out of the mechanism as far as it will go, and give it a good cleaning. I'd try to dry it as much as possible before it retracts back in the mechanism to avoid getting water in there. S.
This beats having a lazy eye........
