My 99 cab has 17" rims. I would like to put 18" rims/tires on because I like the look better. Can someone tell me what difference I can expect (if any) in terms of ride/handling?

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I have the factory 18" wheels on my car. Ride is good on a stock suspension. I had 17 turbo twists on my 993 which roda about the same. But the 993 is a much noisier car naturally. I prefer the 18's for looks and the fact that I can wash the inner wheel with a wash mitt every time I wash the car.
Hi there I have 18" Sport Classic 2s with the M030 suspension (2001 996 Cab). Ride is very GT3 like (harsh) over expansion joints on thruway as well as poorly maintained roads...had to get off one of the Penn highways before teeth fell out for example. On the track? Superb...you just need to figure out what the purpose of your car is... Cheers
There is also a lot of differences in tires. If you mostly want the looks, you could trade-off the stiffness of 18" tires with some more cushy tires like ES100s or RE750s.
