I've been told I can flash my DME with the firmware from a Turbo tiptronic to get the better shift maps on my car, a 99 996 C4 with tip. The cost was supposed to be 750 bucks at a dealer. They had to modify it to say no turbos and then it works. Apparently, the guy says a Boxster S had this done. Anyone know anything?

Coverage and how to read this overview
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I'd be surprised only because the standard tip is a ZF unit while the TT transmission is made by Mercedes-Benz, I believe.
