Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hi, I would really appreciate any thoughts regarding this noise from my 02 C4S that has sprung up 2 days ago. It seems to be intermittent but always be there in some capacity when Im driving around. It doesn't change in pitch with engine speed as you can hear in the video. It seems to be 'activated' by hitting the throttle but wont always be there when accelerating. As in, the noise can be happening when I am not on the throttle and just coasting. It appears to be better once the oil/water temp comes up, however I cant say this definitively. My initial thoughts are it's a heat shield that is loose or less economically, something broken with the catalytic converter. Thanks!

Too much background noise........go somewhere quiet and do another recoding and also try to manipulate the noise doing whatever it takes to make the noise change,, and also document what yor are doing to manipulate the sound...

This is a source reference. Confirm exact model applicability in the original material.
