Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

9 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

Open means that the factory has an open work order on the car. Other words they are waiting for that car to get its recall done so they update their record on that car and also on the parts needed from them. From my experience, Most of the time the factories do not report recalls to the title companies or states BUT Carfax and Autocheck have both started to check to see if there is any outstanding recalls on a car. I really don't think that they check this out much but with some of the inquires from their customers they may be starting to more. Why don't you just check with the closest Porsche dealer if the car has any outstanding recalls that need to be done? This would be the most accurate way.

here let me re-write it for you: 05/12/2010 Porsche Cars North America No open recalls reported Basically a recall that has not been done to a car is known as "Open" . So the car has no Open recalls meaning all the recalls issued by PCNA have been done to the car... You car is not subject to any recalls. All the recalls have been done. If there were any recalls for the car by PCNA, The other owners have had them done already by the dealer, Meaning the car has no open recalls that need done.. I hope that sums it up for you.....

Since you are in Ottawa I know why you are concerned about open recalls. You need proof that any recalls have been cleared up before a car imported from the states can be registered in Canada.Be sure to have your seller provide a printout from a Porsche dealer showing all recalls are cleared. They do this at no charge. The RIV program will not accept a carfax as proof The Canadian stealerships are charging $500 for the same printout to discourage imports. I just bought a car in Tampa Fl. where we have a winter home We drove it there for 2 months on a temp plate and then shipped it to Detroit.. There was a recall pending on our car which the local dealer fixed and then gave us the required clearance letter at no charge.
