Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

11 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I recently had my 996.1 3 stalk in for service. The tech must’ve activated the “miles until gas tank empty” icon in the display . It’s under the digital speedo,,,anyway can someone lmk how to clear that, without “search is ur fren” comment? I like the display the way it was. Thanks in advance.

POST 2Original post

If you don't have the OBC stalk then you're stuck with what you got I think. Maybe you can reset it by remove the 12v battery terminal for a bit?

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Yeah good idea. Tech tool to clear? I mean it WAS activated by them,,,I’ll do the disconnect. Then post up the outcome. Thanks I appreciate the advice.

WoW! I never thought about that! Call the shop and explain the issue! Then what do you suggest? Make an appointment? Drive back there? Sit in the waiting room? Then pay for the service (maybe,,,) OR, hear me out,,,ask the folks here that have more knowledge than me for a simple, time efficient and diy way to do it! Thanks

Sure. Buy a Durametric or PIWIS clone and turn off the OBC yourself. Done.

Yes, ordered it this am. Thanks for the logical response. Shouldve bought one years ago.

Actually, his was a legitimate question. No need for the sarcasm.

POST 10Original post

I'd ask the tech to switch it to outside temp and be done. I personally wired in two switches to control the OBC on my boomerang. Good luck, OP.

Reading comprehension is important. He said his car is "three" (3) stalk. No lever for OBC.
