Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.
Discussions that report identifying a cause
1
0 original-poster resolution reports. Counts can overlap; they are not unique people or a success rate.
0 discussions have direct query context; 0 report a fix in that context. Other evidence may inherit the discussion’s subject.
Leading evidence: 'air oil separator' (1 discussions report identifying this cause; no attributable repair resolution). Across 1 matching discussions, the most frequently mentioned possible cause is 'air oil separator' (1 discussions; 1 report identifying it and 0 suggest it). The most frequently discussed action is 'Check air oil separator' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.

Also check the AOS That has H2O and lives in that area.

Removing the engine from the car to replace any coolant line attached to the AOS is ludicrous.

I would have them replace the AOS if they do drop the engine.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I have a coolant leak and I can't tell where is is coming from. It is on the drivers side on the car. Looks to be inbetween the engine and transmission area.
Here are two pics.
Closer view.
As always thank for the help.
Could in be the coolant tank. From the top it does not look like that is leaking.
It there a coolant hose up there? Could a hose clamp broken? I heard and weird metal springing noise yesterday and saw something in the raod. I thought I might have driven over something. Maybe it could have been a hose clamp breaking???
There are also coolant lines to the AOS and coolant running to it. The AOS is located above the area you have pictures of. Leaks frorn the expansion tank usually don't show up that far forward on the engine.
I'm bringing it in on Thursday. Must be the same thing... What should I expect for $$$?
I don't know a good independent in Portland so I'm just scheduled with the dealer.
They said it's the coolant line(I think the one that runs to the AOS). If they have to drop the engine to replace it then $1,500 or, they said they have some other thing they'll try first and if they don't have to drop the engine then it'll be $750.
P.S. I thought it'd be the transmission they would have to drop but maybe the girl working at the desk just said engine by mistake..
To get to the coolant lines attached to the AOS you only need to drop the engine about an inch or two (not even remove the engine from the engine mounts, just unscrew the bolts a little).
Then remove the drivers side intake manifold.
Removing the engine from the car to replace any coolant line attached to the AOS is ludicrous.
