So, starting last night, my clutch pedal started making a quack sound every time I press / release it. My first guess was lack of lubrication, but when I tried to look at it closer this morning, I realize the clutch assembly is under the dash, hooked straight to the pedal and the sound seems to come from that piston under the dash. It does it both going in and when released. The car is still CPO'ed so I'll have it looked at by the dealer, but anyone has an idea what could be making that sound?

Oh, and I'm sure you all appreciate the irony of my yellow car making duck sounds.
I couldn't help but laugh when I saw your thread. That's a great way of putting it. I think this issue has come up before and it has been said on here that the clutch helper spring making this sound. I took it out, it went away for awhile, but it's back now so I know it's not that. I too would like to know what the deal is.

Then how do you explain the squeaking despite the fact that I've taken the spring out?

Thanks for the info, I'll have them look into it. Considering I'm a french-canadian expat, I'd say a canadian goose

So I brought the car to the dealership today, they didn't actually swap this. According to them, my booster spring isn't broken and it still works fine. Because of that, it's not covered under CPO. They tried greasing it (HHS I think) and told me if it didn't go away / bugged me, I'd have to get it replaced out of pocket. Has anyone tried doing this on their own? What kind of DIY project is it? Thanks,
