I am tired of keeping my white, ugly, sunpass stuck to my windshield and I am trying to brainstorm of a better place to put it out of site. One place I thought may work is under the headliner, but not sure how to get in there, it seems pretty tight, that would leave just the sheet metal of the roof between the pass and the sensing device.......... another place I thought of is under the trunk lid, but I would not be able to hear it for sure to troubleshoot in the situation the gate didn't go up or whatever....... What do you all do with your toll devices?

You can mount it on the backside of your rear view mirror. Yo can only see it from the outside of the car.
What's a toll? <---------------
Upper part of windshield, passenger side of the sunvisor. Away from vision. Out of sight, out of mind.

I mount mine right behind my state inspection sticker. You can't see if from the outside, and it blends from the inside. Cool thing is, it's the same size -td
Paint it black. I did and have had no problems.
I keep mine in the console storage department. Those things are ugly as sin and don't belong mounted on a windshield IMO. I take it out and hold it up when passing through the toll. It moves easily from car to car that way also.

Same for me.
Open the trunk. Take off the plastic cover to the battery. Just to the left of the battery is a piece of plastic that has a small cutout and window where the VIN is located. Take that plastic piece off (secured by one screw?). Velcro the pass near the VIN window, as far up underneath the housing as possible. When you close the hood, it will be right underneath the plastic that the wind shield wiper rests against when turned off.
im from london in the UK WHAT IS SUN (PASS) HEHEHEH
Its a device we have in florida that gives you an audible and visual indication of your decreasing bank account
heheheh oh one of them lol i guess its a toll pass.... we dont have them so much here, mind you, the roads are so bad they couldnt for the usage lol (may be as off road courses)
I spray painted mine black and put it right under the rearview... totally hidden from inside and from outside. I know the Sunpass has the LED lights on it but you should still be able to paint it and just cover the lights.
A little black paint on the EZ-pass and right behind the rear view...

Big ugly Toll transponder....
jeees if you threw it someone you could kill 'em hehehehehe
I like the idea of painting it black. I know that EZ-pass (what we have in NY) also makes one that can mount to your front license plate bracket. Some cars (Saabs and others) have some kind of shielding in the windshield that messes with the EZ-pass transmission...

Bingo. Same here. Plus, I worry with cab that someone would slit the top and take it.

I'm usually on auto pilot going through the tolls and I would totally forget to take it out.

That's what I do as well.

+1
A few weeks ago I heard they have or are getting a much smaller sunpass unit. I don't see it on the web site yet but it may solve your problem when and if it comes out. Until then, I just leave mine on the window and transfer it between vehicles.
I painted mine but keep it at the bottom left corner of my windshield near my registration. Doesnt really bother me, and when it falls of from the heat it doesnt scare the crap out of me either. Another option that I have seen, ezpass has is the front license plate holder. Here in NJ we are supposed to have a front plate - yuk
Avoid the front licenseplate EZPass. If you ever park on the streets of Manhattan, it'll get cracked/broken by the infinite bumper taps that take place when others park in front of you.
thanks for the tip!! Guess I'll stick with the windshield mount

Has anyone tried this? This looks like the best method
Where to mount my EZPass was never an issue for me.

I got one for my wife's Mercedes and it is sooo big that I didn't put it on the license plate. I tried putting it behind the front grill, with plastic wire ties so you can't see it from outside the car, but unfortunately the toll reader couldn't read it. So, now I have it sitting in a drawer (I suppose I should send it back to EZ Pass before I lose it).
I would not mount your Sunpass tag behind anything metal or metallic (i.e. upper windshield bands that have metallized tint). If memory serves me correct, then Sunpass tags are battery operated, but only for the LED lights/display; otherwise, they are still passive RFID and metal, being reflective, will interfere w/ its effectiveness. The new tags for our toll system here are stickers about the H & W of Sunpass tags that have a really tacky blue and orange logo on them. Having said all that, I took a black sharpie to my tag and mounted it on the windshield behind the rearview mirror. ///Michael
Do your state require mandatory front license plates? I don't know whether your toll system has these, but EZ Pass has bumper mounted tags for cars with metallic windshields. The downsides are that if you get tapped in the front, it will get crushed, and if you don't use security screws, it can get easily stolen. But I wonder if it would work if you secured it inside the bumper cover, maybe in the vicinity of the center opening. Also, has anyone tried attaching this to the rear plates?
I am going to try what Vertx suggested: Originally Posted by ervtx Open the trunk. Take off the plastic cover to the battery. You can now get the Sunpass Mini which is credit card sized, very thin and much less obtrusive. Sunpass Mini

Mounting it onto the rear plate won't work because the tag is read from the front, so the whole car will block the tag from being read. As to inside the front bumper cover, I doubt that will work. As I said above, when I mounted it behind the Mercedes grill (which is plastic, BTW), it wasn't readable.

I just confirmed that the above does not work on my car with EZPass transponder :-( I am just going to stick it on the windshield behind the mirror and try to ignore it.
i've slipped in between the passenger seat and the console. tucked in there out of sight seems to work for me.
