Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

17 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

G'day folks, Iv'e been in the 944 Turbo world for the past 7 years or so, starting in the US when I was in TX and these days I'm in Australia. Next month I move to the UK and will be looking for a 996 to start a new Porsche chapter. I'm pretty much a newbie in that department so will be looking around for 996 specific information to help me figure out what I should be looking for in particular, and perhaps what to avoid as well. Cheers, Wayne.

Hey!! There's no such thing as an "ex" Texan. You're either a Texan or you're not, wherever you currently live. Texan here, and damn proud of it!

POST 4Original post

Welcome OZ951. I'm sure you'll enjoy learning about the 996. We look forward to seeing pics when you get one.

POST 5Original post

Porsche 996 The Essential Companion: Supreme Porsche by Adrian Streather (Paperback - May 15, 2008). This is a good overview of the 996. Chris

Thanks for the welcomes, I'm certainly looking forwards to finding us a decent 996 to begin our European phase. Thanks for the tip on the book Chris, I have only just begin my research so something like that will be a great starting point I imagine. Of course you don't have to read Rennlist for to long to discover the IMS/RMS issues. I'm not to phased about that though, since there are solutions available. Note to self . . . pack all tools. I loved Texas BTW, I'd be more than happy to go back there, especially TWS! Although I did get my wife from Seattle Cheers,

Ed may have, too... or is that the next one.

POST 14Original post

I got my wife from China - I can often be heard stating I am 1/2 Chinese, it's my better 1/2 What's your wife's name, maybe I know her HAHAHAHHA yea right !! (BTW not meaning to offend, so dont answer, I am just being silly)

POST 15Original post

Ed whenever you want some good Chinese food, then come on down and visit Texas. My best friend, who is Chinese, moved to Seattle a couple of years ago and whenever he's here for holidays visiting family, the first places he hits are the Chinese restaurants (1st Chinese BBQ, for the locals) and Buffalo Wild Wings. ///Michael

POST 16Original post

you are on ! does he have a place up here, where ? One day I will get to Texas (since Tim aint coming north )

POST 17Original post

Suhweet. I don't know exactly where they live. I'd have to find out... About 30 min away from AOL Wireless and AT&T Wireless from what I gather. Heck, I got another friend that moved to your neck of the woods about the same time to become a Microserf; his wife is Chinese as well. They have a couple of rental properties down here but I haven't seen'em in ages... Then our friend's brother lives up there too... Gee maybe I oughta go visit up there! ///Michael
