Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

12 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

It ticks me off that they are not importing any of these to the US. Such a really cool car. I would love to have that rear spoiler and those Fuchs-style alloy wheels on my car. I know some would probably NOT want those. But that is why they make so many different choices.

POST 3Original post

A friend of mine will be producing the Fuchs windmill style wheels for the more modern cars. They have been working on the design and engineering for them for about 4 years. If you have some patience, they should be producing within the next 12 months. They will be true, single piece forged alloys, made in America under the Fuchs name. They're won't be cheap. But they will look GREAT. I have some advance engineering drawings of several of them and they got the offsets right, and so the proportions.

POST 4Original post

Can you give us the target price they're trying to hit for the wheels? Will they be in 18"?

yeah, I was disappointed by that also - pretty lame that they have some cool design features that they're bringing over here - same old story.

POST 6Original post

isn't it priced higher than a GT2? that doesn't seem worth it to me.

POST 7 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Was pricing mentioned in the video?

POST 9 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

yup - I've never been a big fan of the duck tail, but it looks pretty good on that car.

POST 10Original post

I love it. It is the perfect combo of retro and modern. Thanks for the new background.

I can't even begin to give you pricing information at this stage. The Fuchs USA company will begin with wheels for the 997 line in 19s and 20s. They have designs for 18s in the works. The initial dies for the presses will be for 19s and 20s. I think they will be watching the reaction to the 19s and 20s to decide if the investment in 18s will be cost effective. They do plan to make them in many sizes and offsets to accommodate many different years of "911" automobiles. As I understand it, they will also be manufacturing 16s again, for the customers with older 911s (70s and 80) whose original Fuchs alloys are aging and from a safety perspective, need replacing. Based upon the investment necessary for the tooling, these will not be inexpensive, but not radically expensive, either. They recognize that they have to be affordable.
