Why do dealers/sellers put "Call for Price". Why don't they just put "Call me and I will ramble on about how good this car is so I can con you in to thinking you should pay a premium". I have never and will never call a dealer that puts on the website "call". Tell me what you want for the car and if I think it is a good price I will call you. If I don't think it is a good price and it is the car I want chances are I will call you anyway. Sorry...nuf said.... http://www.autotraderclassics.com/fi...sationId=87753

Coverage and how to read this overview
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.
6 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

Another question is why are cars that new being advertised on Auto Trader Classics? If I'm looking for a 996, that's not where I'd look.
My brother and I are always asking the same damn question. "I want to sell you something but since I charge too much for it I'm not going to tell you how much I want for it. You have to call to find out." Well fine then you can keep it and I'll buy it from the guy who isn't scared to say how much he wants for it. At least we have email now. If I ask via email and they don't respond I won't even try to buy it.
It's a classic ploy just to get people to call and it works. Most people think the price must be too good to advertise and that they're probably going to get a deal if they call. Clearly that is not the case and, as has been pointed out, they just want to get you on the other side of the phone so they can start their sales pitch. I'm with you guys though. I just ignore those places. There's way too much good information on the Internet and I don't have the patience to waste my time with those kinds of places. -Eric
Because they are super lonely people Especially with the prices they ask.
Its all about marketing right? You call and they "think" they can sell you over the phone. Somebody will call and will fall into their SALES pitch
