Last night, I was getting into the car after dinner out with a friend and I hear this noise... "What's that?" I say... My friend says.. "Um, it's that wing thing on the back of your car." When I put my key in the ignition and turned to ON, the rear spoiler lifted up. I've never seen the car do this before. I'd never actually heard it before because it's only ever raised/lowered while the engine was on and that just about drowns out any other noises. I know there's a manual button, my mechanic showed me where the button was down under the dash, I just never felt the need to manually lift it before. So, then I thought maybe it would lower when I would turn the engine back off when we got to the theater, but it didn't so I left it there with the spoiler up. I didn't manually lower it because I wanted to see if it would lower on its own on the way home. I jumped on the freeway on the way home, got up to raising speed and then back down and it did lower again as normal. Weird, right? Anyway, has anyone experienced this before? I tried a search on here but didn't find anything.

Coverage and how to read this overview
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I only read the title but I can assure you, you need to learn to live with it. My front "spoiler" has had a mind of its own for a great many years now
Ok - read the thread, yup same problem as me. Up when it should be down, and well, just never goes down! But there is hope (in your case) try lubing (oh gawd there my spoiler goes) the thing. There are 2 holes to lube on the shaft (crap I need better words) - I will find a pic and post it - asap Gotta run (So bad)
