Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

3 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I convinced a good friend that a used 911 is a better car for him than a new Audi TT or even a new Boxster S. He started looking today, but found the prices to be higher than I thought he'd see. For the most part, he's seeing high 40's for 2000/2001 coupes, which doesn't seem right. I was under the impression that a 30k+ miles car would be in the high 30s at most. Does this sound right? One dealer is asking $49 for an 01 coupe with 40k miles (with factory warranty). Isn't this a bit hopeful? Or is this what he can expect? I'd like to give him some guidance on this. The faster I can source a great deal for him, the faster he & I can start carving up the canyons on the weekends...

POST 2Original post

I'm hunting for a second 996. Out here in California, I'm seeing about $3-5k over Kelly Blue Book ask. Surprised, but it's supply and demand. What are others seeing in their markets?

POST 3Original post

There are plenty of 99-00 996's for sale in the So Cal area at bargain prices. IMO 99's can be puchased in the mid to high 30's, 00's high 30's to low 40's and 01's mid to high 40's. Make sure your friend gets a PPI done on the car he chooses whether considering purchase from PP, resale dealer or Porsche dealer. Happy hunting.
