Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

26 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Like how when you're doing exactly 100mph in 6th gear, the tach is standing directly vertical at exactly 4000 rpms (see pic)...

POST 2Original post

Agreed. Nice white guages. On the track or highway @ 100?

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Highway in moderate traffic, it was just a short burst then back into the flow.

POST 4Original post

Not to be a jerk, but you looked down to take a picture while doing 100 on a highway with traffic? Like the gauges, though.

POST 5Original post

That's 148 feet per second. I sure hope someone else was holding that camera.

I think that's a given

POST 10Original post

Maybe 911fiend just had the car on a lift/dyno & was showing us the "cool little things or maybe a passenger on his lap took the pic.... By the way, I like Ben Choi's new avatar with the harem of women. Better than seeing his ugly mug....Just kidding.

I think the concern was the 'multitasking', or at least that's what it was for me.

POST 13Original post

Yea, multitasking @ 100 is right. That's were C C C unit has done much worse....

LOL, I knew I'd get some of these. FTR, my camera was looking at the tach, I was looking at the road. Multitasking is my gift, I use it on the road.... and off

POST 16Original post

No offense intended, and I wasn't trying to be a jerk or anything. For me, 100 mph is serious business. Both hands on the wheel, 100% concentration on the road, even if it's empty. I guess I'm just a no-talent driver.

POST 17Original post

I hit triple digits very often...especially on bursts....it's just very easy to do in these cars. Of course I don't do it when many others are around, but where I live, if you don't do 80 on the Thruway, your gonna get rear ended. Cops won't stop anyone at 80, not that they are even patrolling the area. Very rare to see them sitting on the 10 mile strip I'm speaking of. My guage setup is different....no speed readout on the tach. Best, J

i can't believe i did 160mph on I-5 on the way up to seattle - car speedo reading, not gps or whatever other accurate contraption.

POST 20Original post

174mph was my best... not that im proud of it or anything... but no way in hell did i look at the speedo... i only knew how fast i was going because my friend told me the speed... good old highway 355 over here in shaumburg...

POST 22 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Quotes source post: 5094296

Yup, it only took a few seconds to go from 80 mph to 100 then back down again. Yet another cool little thing..

I know man, I hit 150 heading down from Sac Town and saw a bend coming up so freaked out and hit the brakes...

It all depends where you come from. I grew up doing 100mph + eating my Big Mac in cars that handle and brake much worse than a 996. I remember that I got a ticket about 15 year ago doing 160kmh (100mph) in Austria in a 100kmh (62mph) zone with a car like below (50hp Diesel). I paid $150 and nobody said anything about "serious business". However, 3 years back, just moved to the US, I got a warning in my BMW X3 on the toll road here in Northern Virginia as I did 70mph (55mph zone) on an almost empty, straight and dry road. The officer said that it's very dangerous to drive so fast!

Well, that was before I was lucky enough to get over TWO HOURS of track time on Laguna Seca a couple of weeks ago. I don't freak out as much anymore. Btw, two hours of full throttle, full braking at Laguna with no brake fade at all and no problems to report. The Ferrari guys were envious. Yet another cool little thing!
