I just purchased a 99 996 with lots of goodies (VF SC, full Fabspeed exh, techart wing, etc), but the car is missing the engine fan! The holes are there for it, and there is room for it, but no fan. Does anyone have instructions on the fan and the cables? - I found one cable on the right side of the engine bay with tape on it, but i'm not sure if this is the female end of the cable from the engine fan? - what is the cable called or part ID that goes from the fan to the plug (previous). I found the fan, but I cannot find a diagram or anything describing the wiring. - FWIW, the car does have a 3rd radiator thanks to the VF Engineering SC kit. Any advice will be greatly appreciated!!

Coverage and how to read this overview
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Most likely no room with the blower.
Who cut the hole in the deck lid?? That has to be one of the most appalling pieces of workmanship I've seen in a long time.
supercharger is in..no space for the fan ?
BTW with no fan in the rear, do not go for high flow cat converter, they get very hot and they need the fan or the engine bay can get really dangerously hot. With stock cat converter I think fan is barely needed.
here is a picture of the engine lidfrom the VF directions. apparently, you need to cut the lid, but apparently, they had a hack do it. In their directions, there is room for the fan (attached). I can buy the fan online, but the people selling the fan (Pelican), do not sell the wiring harness, and cannot give me the part # or description of what to order
welcome OP ! post pics of that beast when u get a chance
Looks like you have a non-factory rear wing... if it is a fixed version which does not move up and down you could always order the "aero kit" version wiring harness which I have on my car # 996-612-070-51
