Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Hey guys...can I get your opinion on this car: 2003 C4S with 20K Miles Black / Terracotta Tiptronic Perfect Example The guy is asking $43K, but I think that is way too high. I can find 2002 Turbo for that price. What do you think? Thanks.

POST 2Original post

If the seller is the original owner, he's pry regretting he's trying to sell it and trying to get above market; which I'd say is closer to low 30's. miles are low, a plus, is the maintenance history intact? In excellent condition? Any mods or in unmolested condition? Options can add a few more $. If PPI is perfect, maybe $35K

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

$35K I would take it. I have been looking around and definitely under 40K. I am so confused to either get a C4S or a Turbo....argh.

POST 4Original post

I bought my '03 C4S with right at 20K miles in January for less than $40K (manual tranny) from a Porsche dealer. $43k seems high.

Was it CPO?

Both have their advantages, but the TT would be my first choice; though alot stands in the way of the purchase if the car is in exc. condition vs an abused Pcar which you should stay clear of ...unless you can get it for a ridiculously low cost.

POST 7Original post

I just picked up a 1-owner 03 w/41k, with a fair amount of options, and additional snow tires, for $37k. I think I paid a bit more, but am ok with that since I got what I wanted.

BTW - manheim and adesa seem to be all over the board, since most of C4Ss don't seem to hit their events. The wholesale price was is to determine, but from the most recent runs, they seem to be pulling low-mid 30's. If you are buying directly from the owner, that may be worth something as you'll have the complete history.

+1, satisfaction on the purchase overrides whatever numbers may stand in the way....as long as the end result is another happy Pcar owner...

POST 11Original post

In 2 years you will regret paying 43K for tip 4S as it will be worth 28K by then. I've seen two local turbos pop up for sale recently. Both 2001's, both aroud 25K miles and both 6spd. One sold for 41K. Then latest one is listed at 42K and it loaded with wood trim and even rear park distance. 4S's seem to hold very stong though compared to the other 996 offerings.

POST 12Original post

43K Over Priced or Not? All depends on the Condition and History of the Car... It seems to have good option like the Interior Colour... But yes you can get Turbo for that Price http://ucl.porsche.de/ucl/plsql/usa/...&pnr_=1&lnr_=1 some even Cheaper on Ebay http://motors.shop.ebay.com/Cars-Tru...5&_sop=2&_sc=1 Get the Turbo for that Money, trust me...
