Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

12 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I've recently started looking at adding an aero kit to my 2001 C4, and the model year seems to be split (before 7/2001 and after 8/2001) Can someone explain the difference?

POST 2Original post

From the picture in your sig it looks like your car is a MK I 996, so you need the MK I aerokit (C2 and C4 are the same kit).

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

How can you tell, from the headlights?

POST 4Original post

Yep, the Mk II kit won't fit your car without new front fenders and headlights.

Yes, you can tell from the headlights. But, the Porsche model year changeover is somewhere around the August date you mention; the 996's produced after 8/2001 would be the 3.6L "facelifted" model, aka "MkII" (starting with the Model Year 2002). The 996's produced prior to 8/2001 would be the original 3.4L "MkI" version, MY's 99,00,01.

POST 6Original post

anybody have pictures of the exterior differences

POST 7Original post

The headlights are different. The front and rear bumper covers are different. The rear bumperettes are different. The exhaust tips are different. Just do a search, you should find lots of picture threads.

POST 9 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

DPS has the full GT3 kit on ebay for $2950 If I understand everything I have read, this should fit my C4 correct?? http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Porsc...spagenameZWDVW

POST 10Original post

You should note that the ad you listed mentions that the rear wing is not OEM and that others have had some shipping issues with DPS. The ad doesn't seem to mention whether it's MkI or MkII, but it looks like MkI in the picture.

POST 11 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Uber, thanks for the info - I did read the other posts re DPS and their shipping issues. However, other then a long wait, no one was screwed and most say they offer a good product. Besides they will probably paint and ship saving me one step!! Good point, I'll call and ask about MK I vs MK II

POST 12Original post

Hey guys, our only shipping issues have been during the holidays when painting was needed. 99% of our products ship the same day ordered. Dom, yes the kit fits your car perfectly. Cheers Dayton www.dps-motorsports.com
