Hi guys, Over the week-end we made the big step to the 996. We first had an 84 Carrera for ten years, then a 964 Cab for close to three, and wanted to go with a 996 Cab for its new safety features. My wife and I have two kids (2 and 7), and we like to make day trips in the Porsche as a family. The 964 only had lapbelts and no roll-over protection. The car we found is a 99 build year Cabrio with 15,700 miles. Forest green with Savannah beige interior. Six speed. Many options, the best for me being the motorsound package with stainless tips The hardtop is a great feature as well. I will try to post a picture sometime this week as the color combo is--to our eyes--pretty spectacular. Certainly, we would not have ever thought to order a new one this way, but when you see it, it is striking. Keeping it looking great will, however, be a challenge as it shows everthing just about as much as black. As for the questions: 1. Anyone ever make actual claims with 1SourceAutoWarranty? So far, they have been clear, helpful, and forthcoming. Before I go with them, I would like to see if anyone has any real experience with them. I.e. after the sale... 2. The car is representative of the low miles and in great shape. However, the Sport Classic 18" wheels in the rear have slight crazing (have to catch it just right in the sun) to the finish/clearcoat. Anyone else have this? Thanks in advance for any and all help. We are really excited about this car. As fairly long-time Porsche lovers we feel that this really is "the best 911 yet." Geert

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I have a 1source warranty & they did the RMS for me w/o difficulty. I have the top too but never used it last winter! Enjoy!
Dakar, Thanks for the reply--this is the type of feedback I am looking for And yes, I am already enjoying this car...can't believe how fast it feels compared to the C-2 3.6 which was no slouch by any standard (5.5 or so to 60). The 3.4 is just a creamer of an engine. I don't know how much the motorsound package plays a role in this, but I did read in the EVO magazine overview that the 3.4 was a "hairy" engine...and whatever that means, I like Geert
