Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I just got the call that the PS2s I ordered are in. But the shop also wanted me to know that the rears are N rated but the fronts he received are not and the tread pattern is "negligibly" different. The sizes are 225f & 265/18r. I don't really care about the N rating because I know these are great tires and I have read on this forum that the PS2s are not yet N rated for my C2. However, the shop said that if I want he will order me a front set that are N rated to match the rears. Now I'm wondering if he's got the right tires. He swears that they are not the PS Rib. I'm confused...1) Are the PS2s for my car now N rated and 2) is the "negligibly" different tread pattern going to make a difference or do I go with the matching set? Help......

POST 2Original post

I'd go over there to check out the tires. I don't think the PS2's have an N rating yet.

POST 3Original post

The PS2 are N rated for the GT2 and GT3 (and 997, 997S & CGT), but not for the rest of 996's. I have that exact size PS2's on my C4. To make sure its a PS2 just have them look at the sidewall, if they are PS2's, it says "PS2" in really small letters right under the last "t" in the Pilot Sport lettering. http://www.tirerack.com/tires/BigPic.jsp?tireMake=Michelin&tireModel=Pilot+Sport+PS2&sidewall=Blackwal l

POST 4 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Just as I expected, the shop had ordered two PS2s for the front and PS Ribs for the rear. They were adamant on the phone that the rears were not PS Ribs...UUGH!! After I corrected him he then says he'll go order the correct tire in a 285! That would be a 275 thank you...... Aren't TIRE stores supposed to know TIRES. I feel bad for the poor guy who relies on their "expertise" and ends up driving around town with a mix of PS2s and PS Ribs thinking he got the matching set!
