POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hello, I am looking at 99 C2 w/ 67K miles, and in the process of negotiating the price. The car has 18inch wheels and aero kit (sans the rear deck wing). No accident, but paintwork on the front bumper due to rock chips. Is this worth $35K in your opinion? Any opinion or comments would be appreciated.

POST 2Original post

PASS... Too many miles I'd look for something with low miles on it, theirs a lot on the market and time is on your side.

POST 3Original post

This one has 58K miles and can be had for $32K... http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...category=10156

POST 4 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thanks so much for the help, guys. So is it quite easy to find one with the aero kit for below $35K (and less milege than 67K)? The price is all over the sources that I am very confused. Thanks.

POST 5Original post

Make sure you understand what options were available for the year you are looking at and which ones are important to you. As an example, the one above for $32K does not have PSM. It's all a personal decision, but I wouldn't get one without it. And in the used car market, there is very little extra in cost to get a car with the options that you want. Take your time. It took me 4 months to find my car.

POST 6Original post

PSM wasnt available on the C2 in 1999, I believe (only the C4). Best you can get is traction control... FWIW... PSM is nice, but the 911 built its reputation with cars that didnt have anywhere near the manners of a stock 996 and without anything approaching PSM. Personally, I dont think its such a big deal. Obviously, this is a personal preference thing though, and the best bet is probably to drive a car with and one without to decide...

POST 7Original post

PSM is for girlie-man, or girlie-girl for that matter. 911 beomes such an automobile icon today because of its liveliness and tail-happy character. It should be a challenge to get the best out of it.

POST 8Original post

??? where did that comed from, Cloud? I don't understand a thing you said. Anyway - Eunsolover - Take your time. Make sure you are getting what you really want. There are so many cars out there and prices are falling. I got my '99 in May and had just about everything I wanted on it except exhaust. I went aftermarket Fabspeed instead. I personally didn't like the early MY '99's with the amber lights front/rear. I think it looks tacky and that was a big thing for me (to get the clear lights in the later MY'99 and beyond). Also I wanted a lot of luxury items like full leather, supple leather, heated seats, mem seats, etc... Keep looking until you find what you're looking for. I don't know what options this car has on it, but the mileage is a little high. You can get one with less mileage for the same $$. I think options would be the biggest deciding factor. Good hunting!

POST 9 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thanks so much. If you don't mind me asking one more question.. does having an aero kit make any difference in pricing? do they have a premium over non-aero kit cars? Thanks!

POST 10Original post

Aero kit will make a slight difference in price. And stevo, that's just my opinion. The 996 is a very very nice car, without or without PSM. To say you have to buy one with PSM is just BS. Think about it for a minute, if the 911 was just like any other nice cars out there 30 years ago, will it have as big a following ? It becomes an icon because of the way it DRIVES, which is addictive... And the 996..well,its a very very nice car..
