New Guy here, permission to come aboard? I have been on the 993 board as I have been looking for either car in my search. I recently made an offer on a 02 996. The ask was $62K and I offered $57K, partial leather, H&R's, Porsche sport exhaust, partial elec seats, 15K mi. all service records, 15K done, service reports had 2 or 3 mentions of not over servicing oil as customer was going to the track. All service done at Porsche dealer. Tires at 65%, brakes <50%. Car will need brakes and rear tires soon. Am I outa line on my bid? Not to insult anyone on the board; but I missed out on a 2003 C4S, 19K mi., sold for $64,500. Glad to be a part of the community, hope I can return some favors when needed. The RMS was R/R at 7500 mi. no leaks now.

Coverage and how to read this overview
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.
5 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

Sounds reasonable to me especially considering that tires (and the accompanying aligment) will probably set you back about $1k.
Check out autotrader. IMHO the asking price is high.
$57k for a 2002 C2 coupe seems a bit high even. I'd offer $52-55 tops. I bought my 2002 C2 cab at $57k so a coupe should be less imho.
Man, that was a super deal. I figure that I may be a little high and could ask for tires and/or brakes. Sooner or later they will realize that the car is worth what someone will give them for it regardless of the books and stuff. Everyday they don't sell me the car is another day of depreciation and a day closer to the end of the factory warranty. Oh, and a day that I am not in the drivers seat.
