It will go longer than that. I'd guess with "normal" to "spirited" driving and decent care, you'll get 150-200k? (Assuming your engine isn't plagued with some kind of defect from factory?) I've got more than 100k miles on my '99.

If you�re talking about the lifespan of the engine, I�d hope you can get 150-200k miles--unless you contract one of the known problems like a leaking Rear Main Seal. You can get an extended factory warranty, too.

I would be surprise if you got less that 150,000 miles out of any properly maintained 996. Buy it and enjoy it's LIFE and not it's anticipated DEATH.

How would a "leaking Rear Main Seal" reduce the life span of the engine? It wouldn't. It's just an oil leak. You should get a hell of a lot more than 50k...but really, who knows, no one seems to keep there cars long enough to find out.
