Fly, Thanks for the kind offer. Sounds like the car I'm looking at was serviced at Harry Dog (Dan Jacobs). I might take you up on the offer pending the info I receive. It truly is amazing to have a community of rennlisters available all around the country....

When I was shopping for mine, this website came across. http://www.weissachautohaus.com/contact.html They work with Dan Jacobs and have not heard anything negative about them. Their prices do carry a premium though to reflect warranty. They welcomed PPI for all of their cars at any dealership if you are interested. I will be back in the States on Sunday and will be more than happy to look at the car for you. Kind of a pre PPI inspection. Let me know and I will hook up with Rich(Fly) and do it together if he is interested.

Hi Chao/Rich, Tgat would be awsome if you could have a look. The owner is open to that and he would also have the records from Dan Jacobs available. Are you guys available this week to go and have a look? Thank you both and also the rest of the forum. FYI, the car I'm looking at is a 99 996 C2 with 75k, 6spd silver on black. It has a salvage title that the owner claims is from a theft recovery which is reflected in the price. Ill definitely post pics if this goes through... Wish me luck.
