Luke that sounds like great fun. What a fantastic vacation. Please post lots of pictures of the drive home in the new 996. Congratulations.
absolutely will ,,,,, even got anew camera for the trip
crazy, but i did the trip on hwy 1 from San Fran to Seattle. i felt like i was in a porsche commercial until my car broke down. LOL good luck man
the car has been thoroughly inspected PPI'd and has a warranty and I also have AAA
But what are the TIRES like? I looked for a 996 for 18 months in Vegas, Miami, NYC, LA, etc. and thought about how exciting the long drive home with my new car was going to be. So, naturally, I ended up finding the "right" 996 about a mile from my home. I couldn't pass it up--it was a C4 coupe, black, low miles, new engine. Needless to say, that drive home ended up being more than a mile! Enjoy!
gotta love a road trip as you introduction to a new car .....

had the same **** but the break down was where one of the bearings that turn with the serpentine belt rusted (previous owner washed car and the car sat sometimes for extended periods of time) so the thing rusted a lil bit thereby throwing off the belt. no PPI could've detected this. it was quite an adventure for me. fun stories to tell. u should be fine, though.
Congrats on the new car- I am interested to find out about the school- always wanted to do that!
Congrats! Have a safe trip and enjoy the ride!
why not skip the flight home and go right to where the car is? Heck, you could drive to Shrevport from Orlando.
I am going to Orlando wth my family and when we return I am going to Phoenix for the Bondurant school ... then I get the car. My schedule doesn't allow for much additional time until after Disney and Bondurant and this was also the most cost effective way to get everythnig done ... the flight from Phoenix to Dallas was just over $100.00
Sounds like a great trip. Enjoy the car on the way back. I can't think of a better way to get acquainted with your 996.
I did the same exact thing with my Audi but from DC with much less of a preamble .... should be fun
I did something similar... flew to Ft. Lauderdale area from Charlotte and drove the car home (approx. 700 miles). Great introduction to the car and I enjoyed it except for sitting in Jacksonville traffic. Good luck and enjoy!
Why Shreveport. Musta a been a hella good price.
You lucky son of a gun!!! I am so envious!! Have a great time and enjoy.
Nice to hear you found 'your' car Luke. Color?Miles? Options?
2001 C2 / Black / Black / supple leather / litronic / PSM / sills / sport exhaust / shift & e-brake / painted center console / white face guages / 44k miles / 1 owner (female) / dealer serviced / warranty .... I'm sure I'm forgetting stuff but, still can't wait to get in and driive
Bet you can't wait to pick her up. Sounds like a nice ride...best of luck with your ride (adventure) home later this month, GL.
