Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Just joined the list. I have had my 02 for just over a year and love it. Very interesting reading so far. I will have some questions after I have read through most of the topics I am interested in. Darren Assanti 19's with PS2's H & R K & N

Welcome and congrats!! Watch your wallet, the mods are coming...

POST 4Original post

Welcome and congratulations! Did you just recently get the 19s wheels? Just be careful with them. 996 NA suspension is not designed to take 19s. Causes bumpsteer.

I had to take a picture that would download. Pulled the cover off and snapped it. It has been sitting for 2.5 months and overdue for a detail thats for sure. I have been considering mods such as exhaust, ecu mapping, cai and a new intake by Hergesheimer(have not seen it, only talked to him about it), GT3 wing. I am not sure the cash outlay for the header, ecu, and cai are worth the gains. Of course, I don't expect easy or cheap horsepower gains with a Porsche. Never had it with any of the other cars I owned either. I only wanting about 20-30 usable hp/ftlbs across the band and I would be satisfied. Can these gains be expected on a tiptronic? It might be smarter to just buy a used Turbo. Have to sell the wife on that approach since we barely got this one. Thanks for the feedback. Darren

[ I]" Welcome and congratulations! Did you just recently get the 19s wheels? Just be careful with them. 996 NA suspension is not designed to take 19s. Causes bumpsteer." Had them for about 7 months. Drove about 2000 miles on them. So far it rides and handles better than stock and I have had no issues. I am going to put some upgraded shocks on it asap after reading some of the posts here. Have not tracked the car and don't plan to in the future. Done with racing for a while, sucks too much cash.

POST 12Original post

Darren, Welcome! I like the black wheels too. I have been thinking of doing the same to mine. How does your little hoopster like the car (basketball hoop in the background)? -Darren

POST 13Original post

Hi Darren, Congrats on the car and color combo (we had a TT in that color here today)...We've done plenty of mods on Tips before and done pretty much the same stuff with similair results. THings we've done include, the Flash, Intake, headers, cats and an exhaust. FOr 20-30HP on a 3.4L all you need is the intake and flash. On the 3.6L there isn't quite as much headroom so it's closer to 20. the intake: http://www.sharkwerks.com/products.php?pid=20

Welcome! I like the black wheels too. I have been thinking of doing the same to mine. How does your little hoopster like the car (basketball hoop in the background)? I can't get a closeup picture of the rims to load. Send me an e-mail if you want me to forward one to you. My son loves the car! Too bad he will never drive it. lol

Try the link below, which will allow you to resize your close-up wheel pics. Alternately, you could try to resize them with the MicroSoft Paint software on your PC. http://www.resize2mail.com/

Here is a close up of the front wheel. The rear has a larger chrome lip.
