Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

The car I found, runs well and is the ext color I like (white), however the interior color is gray, and I wanted black.. I can live with gray, but I am wondering if it is worth the compromise, what did you compromise w/ your used car & would you compromise the int color? I would not compromise the ext color though.. but what about int. color?

POST 2Original post

I can only assume that you're refering to the same car as the other post about the dent? If so, I would pass. You are already concerned with two issues. At $52K it's not a great deal, even with CPO. I'm sure you'll come across another.

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Well, I can live with the seats.. but the gash.. I like that the car is CPO, and I thought that 52K for a CPO car was good. The sticker price was $61K, the asking price was $58K. I got him down to $52K. Retail value on the car from Kelley Blue Book is $57,415. But Private party is Excellent $50,765, Good $48,215, Fair $44,850. I thought that for a CPO car, w/ a dent, that I got a pretty good price, can anyone else weigh in?

POST 5Original post

No get the car you really want, You will never be 100% happy with the car.

POST 6Original post

I would not mind gray if the car is perfect although I favor black as well. I think it is normal to allow some room for compromise on a used car.

POST 7Original post

I couldn't live with the gray interior, and obviously you have a problem too otherwise you wouldn't ask.

POST 8Original post

I wanted gray but settled for black. I wouldn't settle for tan.

POST 9Original post

If you were getting the car for under 30K then it might be okay to live with the compromises. But you are spending average to retail for the car. I would search for something else!, even if you need to drive 3 to 6 hours to another dealership or to a private party it will be worth it to get the car YOU REALLY WANT!!

POST 10Original post

I found the perfect car in Denver.. 2000 C4 with 24,000 miles on it. Perfect in every way - except it had the cinnamon interior. Now this is SLIGHTLY different, in that it's not about personal preference, but more about the impact that the interior has on others. In the end I walked, because personally I looked at the interior and thought, "Is this really sweet, or is it horrific". I didn't want people to look at my car and wonder the same thing so I passed. Don't settle... find the exact car you are looking for. There are too many 996s in the market to settle on one...
