The 5 north was hosed yesterday, so I jumped off in Dana Point and took PCH the rest of the way to Huntington Beach. On my way out of Laguna Beach, a nice gentleman about ten years my senior pulled up next to me, waving to get my attention, to let me know how much he liked my 911. Any day you get a "nice car" is a great day. When the person you're getting it from is driving a Ferrari California, it's a little bit sweeter. About 10 miles further north, two gents in a rental BMW cabrio flagged me down to let me know they liked my plate (5CHN3LL), and we wound up talking at the next few stop lights about their track-day modded E46 M3's. These guys are the third and fourth people to successfully interpret my plate. I recognize that my GT3-look 996 is no Aventador or Veyron Vitesse, but it moves, it looks good, it sounds good, and my payment is $211 a month. What's not to love about that?

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I saw several Ferrari's yesterday while out cruising the O.C., one of which was a red California with the top down & 2 occupants going the opposite way on the freeway.
My kids ask to get ice cream, followed by "... and can we take the blue-bullet?"

Yes, there was some serious automotive bling in the OC yesterday. I saw several Ferraris, a Lambo or two, more Bentleys than I cared to count, a BEAUTIFUL red 356, a couple of restored Corvette C2s, and more. The two M3 owners and I watched a lady in a brand new XKR climb a curb (she turned right about six feet before the driveway) and make some really expensive sounding crunch noises... Springtime in California... gotta love it.
Pics of said 996?

Beautiful example of a 996 By the way im gona save a few "LIKE ME" from searching what your plate means SCHNELL=German for 'fast'.
Great story sd_boxster. Not to steal your thunder, but last week on my way to the White Myns. to go skiing, I was filling up at a Mobil station near Manchester, NH when a bearded man in an old beat up Ford pickup started a conversation with me."Is that a Porsh?" I answered, "yes, a 13 year old Porsche 911". He said, "It sure looks nice and I bet it really goes". Yes, I said, it's hard not to go fast , especially on the highway. I couldn't believe that this guy even knew what he was looking at, yet he was quite taken by my 911. He made my day.
Last summer I was driving with the top down through a residential neighborhood and this 10 year old kid on a BMX bike is pedalling furiously to get a better look at my car. As I stopped at the corner, he says to me "That's my dream car!" I was that kid 30 odd years ago
This is hilarious. One of the people you saw in the BMW is a friend of mine, he has a very well track prepped E36 and works at North County BMW. I think he took the picture down, but I saw your plate on his Facebook. It's a good one!
^^ That's hot.
Today I passed a poor guy on the side of rode while getting a ticket. As I drove by with the PO PO standing at his window he gave me the thumbs up. Made my day.
