Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Saw a dark blue or black 996CAB off in the ditch at 40&Wade this past week and was wondering if it was anybody here. The car sat for a couple days and saw the car had one of those neon orange police stickers on it. Wanted to make sure you (and the car) were ok. Damn, that snow sucked!

POST 2Original post

Obviously not an RL member

POST 4Original post

Who drives a car like this in the snow without winter wheels and tires anyway?

POST 5Original post

It's NC not NY.. Some folks don't know any better.

It did have custom wheels but they didn't look like 20 inchers. I thought it looked like a TTCAB but I didn't see the side intakes.

If it was a turbo cab then maybe the 4wd gave confidence? All I know is that we went nowhere as the roads were HORRIBLE! Our city is not prepared for weather like that.....nor are the drivers. There were some insane amount of accidents and offs that day. I just don't understand why anybody would get out on the road during that crap.

POST 8Original post

What I find hilarious is Perdue declared a state of emergency for NC. But I woke up at 7am that morning and drove to VA to ski Roads were much better the farther north we went. Not in the 996 of course.

POST 9 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Yeah, I thought that was odd as well. Talk about politics. Geez. We got a whole 5" of snow in 2 days, better call in the SOS!

POST 10Original post

Not that I ever want to find out, but just how do you pull out one of our cars with minimal damage?

POST 11Original post

We went to the beach last wekeend. He he. Don't believe me? Turn on the golf channel and watch the end of the Bob Hope Classic in Palm Springs.

Easy Joe - don't rub it in too hard... in a couple of weeks they can catch the Buick and see what we have to deal with down here... Rudy ------------------------- '01 Arctic Silver/Black C2 Cabriolet '03 Silver F-150 Supercrew

It is aTT cab with 19s. We know the car very well, its one of two cars the gentleman owns. I will leave it at that...

POST 14 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Alex, please tell me he didn't think that 4wd in a TT means SUV in the snow. D-oh!

POST 15Original post

Dell, all I have to say is....................

POST 16 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I didn't have a camera with me when I passed by.

POST 17Original post

Here is a pic for the *****. Oh and I like 19s, at least the way they look

POST 19Original post

Wow, who would leave their Porsche with a convertible top abandoned like that? Now if it was a Honda, maybe.....

POST 20 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Dave, I thought the same thing. It was there for a couple days.

Al-x, I wasn't expecting any pics, was just trying to give Dell a hard time, but thanks for the pic. OUCH!!!! Actually, if it was my Honda, not only would I leave it there, I would also leave it unlocked with the keys in the ignition!

POST 22Original post

That is one sad, lonely turbo sitting there. Is that sticker some external variation of the orange cap mod?

POST 24Original post

If it was a turbo cab then maybe the 4wd gave confidence? AWD on low profile summer tires won't do you a dam bit of good. For years I drove my RWD M3 with winter tires and never had a problem, despite the fact that I live in a hilly area that gets a decent amount of snow each winter. I remeber one time I helped out an owner of an Audi S4 who slid off the road, not far from where I lived. He bought the Audi because of the AWD, but he had summer tires on his car. He couldn't believe how well my M3 tracked in the snow. Blizzak tires with low miles on them will work wonders for any car.

POST 25Original post

I wonder why the owner did not call roadside....the snow was not THAT bad to begin with.

POST 26 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Eric, did y'all get the same amount of snow we did up here? I know we are only 2 hours apart but the precipitation line sat right between the cities. Sure, the snow wasn't THAT bad, but it wasn't good, and more importantly we had a TON of ice on the roads. The city just isn't equipped with the infrastructure to make the roads safe enough to commute on......especially when we had 5-7" in one day.

POST 27Original post

Did the driver get hurt and thats why it sat for a couple of days?

POST 28Original post

with my c4s and blizzaks...I think I could just drive outta that divot....no? My neighbor is driving a TT with PS2's...says he takes it easy and gets by...I think he's nuts.... J

Not sure, as that was the inquiry of my original post. I guess the owner isn't on RL.
