Coverage and how to read this overview
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Wow
I saw the real thing at the Mid-Ohio ALMS race a few weekends ago. It looked nice and sounded awesome
Yup. They've upped the price from the C5 Z06 quite a bit, into the price range of the 997 C2. The performance numbers, though, are now targeting the 997 turbo. Excellent bang for your buck. This may be my next track car.
Oh! you are being tempted by the dark side my friend...how about the soul of a porsche's chassis, the motor and tranny, which I hear even the C6 lacks. My next potential track car is to buy a pre-owned cayaman (base or S, hope the resale value drops ), strip it to bear metal, moton or JRZ suspension, recaro seats, roll cage, 6point harness etc....now that would be a cool track car and one with a soul.
One of the best bonuses for me in owning a 911 is that it has four seats, and I can use it everyday to take my 3 daughters to school in. If I had a Z06, it would spend a lot of time in the garage, but I have to say it would be a total hoot as a track car. Ub 99 996 76 930 64 356C (race) 64 356C (in restoration)
The price is still a mystery, but most are guessing high $60s, low $70s. We should know pricing within a couple of months. If I buy one I'll order it from Kekbecks in NJ. On the phone they told me that they will sell the C6 Z06 for sticker + $500 dealer prep. My local Chevy dealer speculates that they will ask $10K over sticker.
It's a Chevrolet, no thanks. Our family's two Chevs were nothing but engine trouble. I'm waiting for the Shelby Cobra Mustang. SVT insiders say "at least" 450 HP but the enthusiast mags are saying expect closer to 500, and sticker supposedly $40K. Our Mercury never left us standing by the side of the road like the bowties did.............
