Is there anyone in the Bay Area who can check out a '04 996 C4S in Milpitas for me? The owner is currently in the UK but his car is being stored at a place called "Store Inside" while he's out of the country. If it checks out visually (and audibly -- he said a guy by the name of Stewart will start the car, etc.), he's happy to let me send it out for PPI. I was initially nervous about the owner's story (it sounded like one of those Nigerian letters where the recipient will receive $1M if they respond with their first born child) but I've spoken to him and exchanged a number of emails. He seems to check out. He'll be back in the Bay Area in mid-August and said he'd be happy to finalize a sale if it all works out. Anyway, please send me a PM if you have the time to check it out for me (lots of pics would be GREATLY appreciate). I'll just need your name and a good time (between 11am and 3pm tomorrow) that you can stop by to see it so that I can advise the owner. He will then coordinate with "Store Inside" to have the car available outside for viewing. If you can't do it tomorrow then he said he can probably arrange for it to be pulled from storage again early next week. -Eric P.S. Here are some pictures of the car...

I could possibly look at the car on a Saturday or Sunday, in the afternoon, but not at anytime M-F. If the seller was agreeable and could start the engine I could listen to the engine but I would prefer to not drive the car. Also, I'm not qualified to give the car a good pre-purchase checkout. I could take high res digital pics of the car for you. If this is ok let me know. Sincerely, Macster.

All I need done is a visual inspection (i.e., lots of digital pics). There's no need to drive the car at all or conduct a PPI. If it gets a visual thumbs up and the pictures look good then I'll coordinate with the seller to have a PPI done. He's agreed to it so that won't be a problem. If nobody is able to see it tomorrow then I can ask the seller about a time on Saturday (Storage Inside is closed on Sunday). Someone else is supposed to be viewing the car tomorrow and evidently they don't like moving the vehicles a lot -- they're typically in for long term storage. Thanks! -Eric
Good luck to you. If Macster ends up not able to help, PM me and I might be able to assist you. I could take video for you and upload it to my YouTube channel as private so you could get a walkaround (in HD). Cheers. EDIT: Just saw it was for tomorrow. TM doesn't work for me. If things don't work lol, pm me hahah
Amazing looking car! Way nicer than that red cab!
I really want this car -- I just need some help coordinating the non-local aspects! lol -Eric
Eric, Curious if this pans out. I thought the same as you when i saw the ad... Nigerian all the way! Looks like a really nice car... The C4S has great lines and it gets a lot of positive comments. Good luck and let us know if you score. R/Tom

Wait to close until he can do it in person, and at that time, have him bring his passport to verify against the name on the title. Good luck, though - nice car! EDIT: I see he's got a Sharkworks plate on it, never hurts to do some sleuthing with them as well - they would have some record of the car.
Good call with contacting Alex's shop to verify the story and history as well. It looks like a very nice car...

I hope I can offer someone the same type of assistance if its needed for a car in my area! David, I called Stevens Creek Porsche about a PPI and they're happy to do one.
