Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I just discovered the spring underneath my passenger seat wasn't attached to anything. (well, except some of the wiring underneat but that's taken care of). It's the one about 18" long and 1/2" wide, and has a 4" rubber cover in the middle. So how should I re-attach this thing? Does anyone know what its purpose is? I'm guessing it's not to pull the seat forward (that's what the shock is for i figure)

POST 2 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Ok i figured it out: it does appear to be to pull the seat forward. On the front of the left seat-rail there's a gold tab sticking out, one end goes onto that. near the back-left of the seat there's a black metal tab for the other end. When the seat is pulled fully forward the tabs will be spring-length distance apart. Now i think the shock is used to tilt the back of the seat forward.
