Thanks to everyone who responded to my previous posts. Well, today I finally bought my 996. It is being shipped today. I should have it early next week. Thanks to everyone who swayed me to get a 996 (although I think the 993 is still very cool looking). My new car is MY 01 with 16,000 one owner miles. Arctic silver with metropol blue interior. Litronics, aluminum package, heated seats, power driver and passenger seats, digital sound and cd changer. The cool thing is on the rear deck instead of carrera it has an aluminum "911". I'll try and post pics when I get it. By the way I bought it for 50K. Did I get ripped off? It has had all service done including rms last year. Thanks again to everybody. Scott

Scott, Woohoo! Enjoy your new ride. If the car is a clean (with the exception of a few rock chips - Porsche paint sucks) one owner car with all records, you did fine. Post pics please.

Thanks for all the replies. Gery, that is exactly the rear deck on my new car. Did you order that too? Is it part of some aluminum package. I had only seen it before on Mellinnum Edition cars. Scott

I did replacement for 911 myself and thought it was original... I did not like black Carrera tag.

Congrats! I only drive mine twice a week or so, but every time I do, I get the biggest $%!+-eating grin on my face... I'm sure you'll feel that same joy driving yours. I just love that car!

I tried it both way and liked it better spaced out, otherwise it looked too small. Just a personal preference
