Lucky you! I'll go south head to Interlaken or go north for autobahn. =) I've drove down from Frankfurt-Zurich-Interlaken and the view of Interlaken just to die for... while you're in Interlaken, ditch the Porsche take a train all the way to top of Alps. in the clear day, you can see France/Italy/German from there. don't forget visit the ice palace when you on top of Alps... there's many small town/route around Interlaken. Wangler (nor sure if I spell it right) is one of highest town in the world. no vehicle accessable beside the train. have some tradition fondue and cold beef and you won't regret. hope this help. have fun Eddiemou 99 C2 SY
Head over to St. Moritz and drive over the pass/glacier (name escapes me) just outside of town, simply the most beautiful place on earth. Also scoot over to Solden Austria a ski town where the World Cup Alpine event is held every year and drive to the top of the Rettenbach glacier (hope I spelled that right). WOW what views. P.S. Carbon take a look at my post regarding PSE install, now I am considering Fabspeed and need to now what the install was like. Thanks
While in Europe I would look for a Porsche dealer and see the new 997. The car is out in Germany and you can see it. I am going over in a little over a week and tried to arrange a factory tour but the factory is shut down for a month in August. I have a 997 on order and would have loved to see it in person early.
Even though driving p-car is great there, their train system is great. It runs like a clock and you can get from Zurich to Geneva in 3 hours. We spent 10 days there traveling all around without a car and hassles associated with driving in a foreign country
The route that I drove through eastern Switzerland last Fall, travelling between St. Anton Austria and Bellagio Italy was simply fantastic. I targeted Davos and St. Moritz as towns that I wanted to pass through. The passes and mountainside driving opportunity completely satisfied my reasoning for taking Euro-delivery. Tons of inclined switchbacks and very tight roadways, so you definitely need to bring your best game if you plan on driving it aggressively. The traffic wasn't too bad in late September, but if you're thinking about going in August, be prepared for lots of Europeans on vacation. I still replay the video to get the thrill once in awhile. If you'd like, I'll send you an image of the traced route on a map. Good luck! Jeff
