I am having an issue with the right side (black) shifter cable popping off at the shifter end after re-installing my shifter (removed to do the Function-First bushing upgrade). The issue seems to be with the spring loaded clip that attaches to the base of the shifter handle. I have released the spring loaded clip back into position however when I move the shifter across the gate to say 5th gear, the clip is hanging up on something, causing the spring to compress and unlock. It appears Im doing something wrong which is resulting in the clip not locking onto the cable end correctly. Has anyone else had this issue?

Coverage and how to read this overview
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.
