Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

4 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

Does anyone know if it is possible to some how program a 997 key to work with a 996, or to gut a 996 key and make it work with the 997 key?

POST 2Original post

You might browse this site. I've seen some interesting things there. http://p-car.com/ One of the pages is on programing. Not sure which versions it applys to. Also, the site didn't come up tonight.

This is a no. There are completely different keys. The programming on the 987/997 key is slightly different and the metal parts of the keys are different shapes. The metal section is noticably larger on the 997. Personally, I liked the 996 keys a lot better than the 997. They are a lot smaller, so they fit your pocket better. Then also feel higher quality to the touch. I was never a fan of the cheap gray plastic 997.1 keys. My 997.2 keys are the same size as the 997.1, just with the black finish like the 996 keys.
