Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

16 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hi all, Newbie's greetings from Alberta Canada. I am a proud owner of a 2002 Targa TIP. It is going to be my daily driver for the Summer. I bought this CPO Targa from Pfaff for the peace of mind as this is my first P-Car. These are the dealer's pictures but I guess they will do for now. Happy driving! Cheers, Regards, Frank

Very nice car! One of my favorites of the 996's..........the Targa model, and the first year with the newer front end/lights. Welcome to the forum!

No so much off, as open.... Here is a 997 with the rood open, pretty much the same.

POST 9Original post

I see... I wonder why they even made a sunroof version? You would think the cost for that vs the cost for a sunroof has to be really close.

The Targa is based on the Cabrio so it's heavier, as is that Targa mechanism So a Coupe with a sunroof is still worth producing and that Targa/Hatchback and all that heavy glass has to cost more to make I would think.

Weight - up high on the chassis is an issue - esspy for 'trackies'.

Frank, Welcome to Rennlist and Congrats of getting a nice looking Targa. Thanks for posting the pics! The Targas are neat cars, but I'm holding out until Porsche makes a convertable version of the Targa!
