Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I got tired of waiting to finally find led tail lights for my C4S so I decided that at the very least I had to black them out. Went to several shops and for straight out black it was between $ 290,- to $ 450,- For something with a design/clear cut out it went as high as $ 850,-!!!! I ended up doing it my self, screwed up once, made a bad design once but finally I got it! It makes the car look wider and meaner ! Man I'm stoked! Replaced the dummy fog light bulb in the passer side taillight housing and had the fog lights wired in with the taillight sockets this boosts the overall light output and it works like a dream. The pics of when the lights are on don't do it justice, they are much brighter in real life! let me know what you guys think!

POST 2Original post

I was afraid to look... thought it might look a little stupid, but WOW! That actually looks really great! I would be concerned about police ticketing the lens but from a "looks" standpoint how are the parking/driving lights? might be kind of dim?? I live in a wet dark area of the planet.....gotta be seen from all sides next the headlights !!

POST 3Original post

It looks great. Quite original. Doesn't look like you are in Montreal?

POST 4Original post

next the headlights !! He already did the headlights. He has a light fetish.

POST 5 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thanks guys! Really I'm a breast man, so those where the first to get some enhancements...but after a little J.Lo enhancement...forget about it! Mind you the rims and spacers helped A LOT (actually had to roll the fender). ivangene, normally there's only 2 "pockets" of the taillight housing lid for the driving lights (2x 5watt) but I hooked up the fog light as well (21 watt) so now there's 3 "pockets" lid. Had the cops behind me 4 times and so far no tickets even though the taillight are black (brake lights too) the turn signals (and backup lights) are clear. So between that and doubling the watt output that probably makes a difference. time will tell...

POST 6Original post

I had a little pickup for 14 years... when I fist got it I tinted it dark...in 14 years you can imagine I did get stopped a few times, but I never got a ticket for the tint my front window had 5% Limo top and bottom. The top is obvious why but after a while I stated to manually block the reflective light of oncoming cars at night with my hand and realized due to the shape of the hood and the seat position I was getting double lights from all cars... so I put limo on the bottom just to the point that is blocked out the entire hood from visabillity from the drivers seat... man I loved that! than I added 2 KC daylighter 120 watt pencil beam lights inside the grill and out of sight... motorcycle offroad headlights with 55/100 watts - you would not have wanted to get into a headlight flashing fight with that one... 180k miles I bought it with 12k, never ever ever ever had a problem with it...this is the day I sold it, original paint, original clutch, motor, tranny... everything. i worked the crap ouot of it too... lots of big heavy loads when I was into ATV's and when we bought out house (remodel) miss the little thing -

No, I'm hauling @ss to make it to the Fabspeed air intake "hookers and blow till the wheels come off" party!!

POST 9Original post

I'm just shocked to see that Sid did his first mod. I like this one, a lot. Only on black though.

POST 11Original post

It looks pretty neat--but how many feet of rear visibility are you losing through darkening the lens?

Yeah, I noticed the same thing. It's a good thing the Ed "works with metal" for a living, otherwise that could have turned out really bad!

POST 14Original post

OMG was that tough to bend like that... !! I hated that thing pointing straight up, it was what I came up with (hey I was in my 20's chasin girls :P ---- then I caught one )

POST 16 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I'm intrigued, who caught whom how and more importantly with what Listen I received quite the response to the taillight thing so to answer everyone here and the PM's I got I did a whole "how to" writeup but I put it in another thread I started on everything to do with customizing our rides. Check it out at https://rennlist.com/forums/showthre...ferrerid=75046 From, Psycho Sid Wow... I hope one of you guys can do the next writeup 'cause that's more work than my little pie brain can manage! cheers, Sid.

No way I've done tons of mods!!! ***** enlargements count right!? Well after all it is a ride of sorts...

POST 19Original post

Damn Sid, that is tight! I like how you blacked out all the lights and the reflector. Very nice..

Hey -- that's Ed's shortwave special that can accept microbursts from low orbit satellites. Or was that just tuned to country stations?

POST 21Original post

IMHO, the reflector makes the C4S what it is. I'm glad you like the work, but can't say that I'd do it myself. NEways, mucho thx for sharing the photos so others can decide for themselves!

POST 22Original post

I'm kinda the same way... I like the reflector strip on the C4S. That being said, I think Sid has done a nice job with it... and if he likes it, then great! If they made a good looking set of LED tail lights for the C4S, I might be interested in those...

That's the great thing about this forum, you get to see what others did so you can decide if that's something which you would do or not. 'cause lets face it when it comes to customizing, most of the time you really don't know what it's going to look like on your ride until it's done. Still looking for LED taillights for the C4S/Turbo though! But until then I'm very happy with this mod.

POST 24Original post

Yeah, I know the reflector strip is a hallmark of the C4S, but on a black one, this just works!
