Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I have a 99 C2 with 31,000 miles. I love the car! I need some help. First, the lug bolts are all rusted and it drives me crazy. Has anyone tried painting them? If so, what product did you use? Second, I'm looking for a bit more speed. Has anyone installed a powerchip? Was it worth it? Last, is there any benefit to installing the aftermarket cold air kit? Thanks all for your advice.

Lug bolts- Painted? I don't know anyone who has but if you want new ones, try http://www.boothedesign.com/ Chips and intake for the 1999? I tried a GIAC in my previous 1999 along with Fabspeed's air intake system and felt no real difference other than a bit of a bump in mid-range and slightly more toward the top. I understand from other peoples' posts that to get anything significant out of a 3.4 (other than supercharging), you should consider headers, mufflers, intake, chip and possibly something like FVD's camshafts as a package. By the way, that Fabspeed intake sounds awesome.
