Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Interior? Exterior? To me it seems like there is a touch of blue in the grey in the interior. Anyone recognize this colour? Not very common on 966.

POST 2Original post

Exterior is vesuvio metalic, interior is hard to tell from a pic, it could always be a custom sample, but I hate to venture a guess and be wrong. Do you have the option and color codes?

POST 3Original post

I should really say it looks like vesuvio metallic, the color code would confirm.

POST 4 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I am thinking about buying this car tomorrow. I veen surfing around the net but havent yet found a 911 with similar exterior color. If you take a close look at the left side support (back) of the drivers seat you will notice it is a bit worn out and needs to be leather painted. Finding a matching paint would be easier If I knew the porsche "color code" for the interior. Will I find it somewhere labelled in the car?

POST 5Original post

On the underside of the front trunk bonnet/lid there is an ID label which contains useful info such as the exterior paint code, interior color code, and options. If you can post this information (a clear photo is best), someone can help you. The color codes are in about the center, and I suspect that you will see a 40W or 40X (for Vesuvio), followed by an interior code. The codes at the bottom will be the options, and there are good option decoders that might be of help (see renntech.org).

POST 6Original post

The interior looks like graphite grey, same as mine (2001).

POST 7Original post

Exterior looks like Atlas Gray to me - but all Porsches look like Atlas to me!

POST 8Original post

Purple or what they said above but I say purple

POST 9Original post

vesuvio. Was a special color for them,--and only came with that interior.

POST 10 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Congrats!! Beautiful car! Is it in fact Vesuvio? More I look at the pics, the more I agree with others that it is. Good luck with her.

POST 12Original post

<clapping> YEA WAY TO GO!!! Good looking ride... you need to warn the family too... They will wonder why you are constantly going in and out of the garage for no reason at all (this slowly should start to fade, though not completely every go away, after several months though) Go drive it around and get some miles under your belt.. come home and spend time looking at it, cleaning it and learning... it's OK to touch THIS ONE ! ! See you back with more pictures! E

POST 14Original post

That's a very special 996 among other 996s. Good luck with it!

POST 15Original post

If the exterior is Vesuvio Metallic, then the interior is likely to be Space Gray.
