**edit** Disregard. Confirmed hinge pin can be removed/re-installed. My Targa has been suffering from black foam syndrome for years. I've decided instead of being surgical going thru cowl and behind radio that I'd get ambitious and fix the issue by removing the dashboard as part of converting from partial to something closer to full leather. I've been collecting parts (dashboard, instrument cover, passenger airbag cover, console sides, door panels, rear quarter panels) and am ready to tackle removing the dashboard tomorrow. I wanted to do a sanity check and confirm that after safely removing the passenger dash airbag/cover that I can separate the vinyl (hinged) cover from the airbag and install a replacement leather (hinged) cover to the airbag.
