Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

seriously ! its been two and a half weeks without my car (in the body shop for some fixin up) it will be almost 2 weeks more until its done..... I am having a serious amount of depression from NOT driving the car. All I can think of is "I need a little drive, any amount will do" (well not ALL but damn near ALL!!) - I want to see it, touch it, sit in it, smell it, hear it drive it feel it.... good gawd I really miss it..........WAAAAAAA!!! Now aside from Phil who obviously does NOT suffer from this..... do you guys have the need to drive your car if its been a couple / few days, and what is the increment of time you feel is enough... I am going for a drive ! When I get it back I'm gonna be out driving!!!

POST 2Original post

I know what you mean. I just got back from 2 1/2 weeks in China a few days ago. Actually, this was the longest I've gone without driving any car in 19 years. I'm chomping at the bit to get her out. The first couple of days home were beautiful, but it had a cover on it, there was stuff in front of it and I was tired because the kids had bad jet lag. Of course now it's raining.

14 + months and counting! But TD (hinself) let me drive his GT3 a couple of weeks back. It was WONDERFUL!

POST 4Original post

It kills me when I'm out of town driving a rental car. It always puts a smile on my face when I'm walking back across the airport parking lot and I see the 996 waiting for me...

POST 5Original post

I had to take mine out yesterday and hammer it around a few entrance/exit ramps to get my fix! I had an autocross last weekend and it's SO MUCH FUN that I was having a little bit of withdrawal...

POST 6Original post

Went to the beach this weekend but took the SUV this time. Had to go for a drive when I arrived (to do some "errands" of course) because it had been 3 days since I touched it. But the longest I've gone without driving it so far has been the 10 days I was on vacation about a 1 1/2 months ago.

POST 7Original post

I go for 1-2 weeks but when I get in it it's pure joy. This month, my wife's car had issues so she took my Grand Cherokee while her's was getting fixed. I drove my car to work 60+ miles a day for 2 weeks. It' was a lot of fun until traffic backed up. This week I went about a week without driving it. Took it to an autocross on Saturday. Needless to say it was a hoot.

so you are bout due Tim.... when you get up here, you can have my keys for the weekend - call me Sunday night and just say "I have no idea where I am at, but I am smiling...." BTW it turns into a pumpkin at 12

POST 11Original post

I've been karting before I go home from work as a replacement for going to the track and canyon since the newborn is taking up our time -- it just isn't the same.

POST 12Original post

i can go 4 days tops. it's especially bad when i have to drive a rental on business trips. ugh.

POST 13Original post

It's been the WORST "car summer", So much rain it's been awful. I never drive my car(s) Yes, I have no issue with driving it in the rain but I really enjoy the sunroof open, windows down experience more. When it's rainy and crappy I just don't have the enthusiasm, especially with the morons on the road.

POST 14Original post

I went almost 10 months when I had my intermix problem. I have been back on the road for about 3 weeks and I am loving it. When the car was down it pained me when I saw other Porsches, particularly when I wasn't certain if mine would ever be on the road again, there was no way I could have afforded a new engine these days. Finding the problem and fixing it myself was the only way, and I had to wait until spring to work on the car, did it in the driveway as my garage is too low.

POST 17Original post

Yes, unfortunately. Could be worse of course but I 'm not sticking around to find out.

POST 19 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thanks for the offer...... I should have mine back in about 1-1/2 weeks (20 hours 15 minutes and 18... no 17...16 seconds!)

POST 20Original post

It used to be 3-4 days tops. I live in the foothills with lots of nearby windy roads - great way to unwind. Sadly, I have been down 5 weeks with a blown engine. ...missed a few DE's and some road trips. I am jones'n to get that car back on the road! I hope to have a solution this week, but it might be a couple more weeks until I get it back - hopefully while summer is in full swing.
