Weird question here. Is it possbile to replace a fixed tail with the standard OEM 996 electronic tail. I don't like fixed GT3 style tails. Its for a 996 C2 with GT3 style tail installed??? Thanks

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Yes. You just have to find the stock hood. I have both the stock hood as well as GT3. Changeout takes less than 30 minutes.
wow that response was blazing fast!!! LOL!! So what about electrical etc...or is it a straight swap? What do you think a deck lid should cost?
$200-$400 used... not incl paint. You also need the wiring harness for deploying the espoiler.
What color is your car?
I have a perfect stock tail with spoiler and motors - bolt on and go..... what color is your car? are you wanting to get rid of the current one? You will need to pony up the $17 membership to conduct a trade/sale, but we can certainly help you out. Ed

^ Bwahahahahah! Good one, Ferd!
Ha freaking ha ha ! No I have a spare (or two) Told you I am sick!
If you have a gt3/aero wing and are looking for the stock setup I'd be happy to work out a trade with you. Drop me a PM.

As others have said the switch is not hard and I'm sure you could find someone to trade with you. A few questions. 1) Do you have the Mk I, tail or Mk II 2) Are you parts Porsche parts or aftermarket (one way to tell is to find the Porsche P/N, another way is to look at the upper wing element and see if they are adjustable. The aftermarket wings are generally non-adjustable) 3) What color is your wing If you have a real Mk I black tail, I'll trade my stock electronic wing with you. Here are some pics Mk I Mk II
I have an artic silver stock setup I'd be willing to trade as well.
Where in NH do you live?
Gilford, right in central NH
man, its like the fish that got away !! had him on the hook, reeled in and there was a hole in the darn net.... WHERE DID HE GO ?
It was like the lottery. We were just waiting to see who had the right color.
LOL - I have black AND grey (the dark grey, not silver grey like yours)
I had the winning ticket right here.....
hahahahahha
It's like sharks circling a wounded fish I looked at the OP's post history and he isn't exactly prolific. He's been a member for years but pop's in and out occasionally going months or years between posts. I think there are a bunch of people here who would like to do a trade if they have the same color, and I would throw in cash as well. It's situations like this that Rennlist is perfect for though.
<shark fin out of water> I have cash too (wait, how much) HAHAHAHHAHA yea, I think we will see a post in 6 weeks that says....can I remover factory side skirts without leaving any holes?

If that one comes up I'll be one of the sharks in that fish feeding frenzy!!
you and me both brother!!
too funny......anyone else want to trade stock for Aero parts?
Am I the only one that keeps popping into this thread looking for pics of "tail"?
If the change over is easy I would consider a non Porsche GT3 wing. Does anyone have a source?
<popping in too>

I think a lot of people like MA Shaw's replica, I haven't fitted one but I've seen people get good results.
