Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

9 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

Please send me a PM if you have a copy of the 2002 Carrera 4S Order Guide. Currently, RennTech only has documents back to model year 2003 listed.

Did note that. It has to be an error. My dash has the exact same feel, look and stitching as the all-leather seats. Not the "basketball surface" you see in the standard C2. Same with the window sills, door panels, back panels, shift boot, etc. The list of what is in leather is more consistent with the listing under the "Optional Special Leather Interiors", but is in standard black leather rather than the special colors. Notice that the sunvisors are in leatherette in both lists. That piece of leatherette in the sea of leather was somewhat annoying when I first got the car. Got used to it, though, since I did not feel paying another $500 just for the leather sunvisor was right.

I've seen leatherette in Bimmers and... it's pretty damn good stuff. I mean, sure I prefer real cow leather, but if leatherette wears better especially on the sunlight drenched dash area... I'm fine. Just didn't know it was leatherette. The non-leather dash is an absolute atrocity in such an expensive car. I'm a stickler for a well-optioned interior. It makes or breaks the car for me. I love the stitching on the full leather dash especially right above the instrument panel. Yes, I'm vain.

Nah. I just checked. It's leather, BJ. Full stitching, the whole 9 yards. The sunvisor, yeah, that's still leatherette.

POST 9 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I think that "leatherette" annotation is a mistake for the C4S standard interiors. The 2002 Carrera Order Guide shows the exact same codes as that of the C4S but they are "Optional Leather Interiors MSRP = $3,250" and states "Dash (leather)".

This is a source reference. Confirm exact model applicability in the original material.
