Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

My C4S is on a lift - what's most effecient way to remove mufflers without taking off rear wheels?

POST 2Original post

most effecient way is taking off the wheels and pulling them out from the wheel well... the extra 5 min will save you 30 later.

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

the lift supports the rear wheels

POST 4Original post

You do not have to remove the wheels whether it is on a lift or on the gound. Loosen the clamp for the CAT and remove the 3 nuts on the hanger. Muffler can then be removed. Once you see how to do it, they can both be removed in 15 minutes.

Thanks , my neighbor was kind enough to let me put the car up on his lift while his other car is in transport - don't want to wear out my welcome. OKAY NOW, the clamps from the cat are easy...the 3 nuts on the hanger you refer to are what I'm assuming is the muffler bracket?? Thanks again! Looking from underneath it seems on the C4S the bumper curves in such a manner it'd be really tough extracting them.
