Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

3 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hello everyone, just wondering if some of you find it difficult to get into reverse at times. I was told that the best way would be to shift into 2nd then 1st and that reverse should be alot easier to get into. This process aligns the gears better. Have you heard of this before? Cheers and safe driving.

POST 2Original post

I always put the car in 1st before shifting into reverse. I don't even remember where I picked up this habit but gears never 'crunch' going into reverse using this method. chuck

POST 3Original post

Same here. Putting the car in a forward gear before going into reverse stops all gears from moving and allows easy engagement. You don't even think about it after awhile.
